Memorial Day Hero Salute

Memorial Day Hero Salute is a multi event running and fitness occasion held at Town Center Park in Kingwood, Texas (8 N Main St, Kingwood, TX 77339) on May 25, 2026. The program includes in person and virtual options, a kids event, and a discounted Volunteer then Run option that combines race-day support with participation.

Event offerings include:

• 13.1 Miles Half Marathon
• 10K
• 5K
• 2 Miles MURPH hero workout
• 1.5 Miles LOREDO hero workout
• 250 m Kids Salute

The MURPH workout consists of a one mile run, 100 pull ups, 200 push ups, 300 air squats, and a one mile run. LOREDO is six rounds of 24 air squats, 24 push ups, 24 lunges and a 0.25 mile run. The Kids Salute format is a short run plus bodyweight exercises. Several events note limited availability.

The event supports veteran and PTSD related charities, including Semper Fi and America’s Fund and Camp Hope. Registration fees vary by event, with examples from $15 for the kids race to $45 for the Half Marathon and virtual options listed at $40. All participants receive a custom race shirt, finishers medal and race bib. Awards are given to overall winners and age group top three. Pre race and post race activities include music, vendor booths, a donation drawing, live results, awards, a tug of war and refreshments.
