Memorial Day 5K Fun Run/Walk
The Memorial 5K is a community sports event held at the Simmons Center in Duncan, Oklahoma. The event serves to honor both Veterans and Active Duty military members. Participants are encouraged to wear red, white, and blue in celebration of America's 250th birthday.
The event features a structured opening ceremony that includes:
- A flag salute
- Performance of the National Anthem
- An opening prayer
The course is open to both runners and walkers. For the safety of participants, bicycles, inline skates, wheelie footwear, skateboards, and scooters are prohibited. However, the event allows participants to bring strollers and leashed pets.
The meeting point is located at the Haliburton Pavilion, situated north of the Simmons Center and directly behind Centennial Park. Registration for the event includes a commemorative t-shirt. The following distance is available:
