Rush Springs Watermelon Festival Watermelon 5k/10k
The Rush Springs Watermelon Festival running events take place at W. Blakely and Holly Street by Jeff Davis Park in Rush Springs, Oklahoma on August 8, 2026. The races serve as the kickoff to the town's annual Watermelon Festival.
Distances included:
- 5K
- 10K
- 5K for junior high and high school cross country team runners
Proceeds support the Rush Springs track and cross country program and efforts to rebuild the track. Paid registration includes a T-shirt or tank top and a participation medal. Awards are given to the top three in each age group and to top male and female finishers.
Registration opens April 15, 2026. For the main races registration closes July 20, 2026; junior and high school team registration closes August 6, 2026. Published registration fees are $40 for the 5K, $45 for the 10K, and $25 for the JH/HS team entry.
The Watermelon Festival following the races includes a large carnival, arts and crafts booths, food booths, live entertainment and watermelon. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
