Melrose Riverfest 5K/1K Run/Walk
The event takes place on June 27, 2026 in Melrose, Minnesota. The 5K is professionally timed and both the start and finish are at Sauk River Park.
Distances:
- 5K Run/Walk: professionally timed, registration required.
- 1K Run/Walk: free and untimed, no prior registration required.
Registration for the 5K opens May 4. Early registration is $30 through June 12 and includes a t-shirt and a "support local" bag. A higher fee of $35 applies after June 12 and does not include a t-shirt. Same day registration is allowed; same day registrants do not receive a t-shirt or the "support local" bag.
The 1K Run/Walk is free this year. Participants in the 1K sign up at the registration table on race day and the 1K route remains inside Sauk River Park.
Prizes are awarded in multiple categories. In the 5K the first place male and female each receive a $50 Scheels gift card. First and second place male and female in each age category receive medals. In the 1K the first and second place male and female receive medals. Under the Let Freedom Ring theme the two best dressed runners receive $25 in Melrose Chamber Bucks. Prizes are distributed immediately following placement and are picked up when a participant’s name is called at registration.
