Mellow Trail Race
Mellow Trail Race takes place at Pace Bend Park in Spicewood, Texas, on a peninsula jutting into Lake Travis. The event offers multiple distances and uses a main 13.1 mile loop plus a shorter 5k loop; longer distances are formed by repeating loops. Trails run clockwise and traverse rocks, roots, and hard packed surfaces with occasional elevation gains and lake overlooks. One shoreline near the course is zero entry and the other is rocky cliff edge; the finish line is placed close to the lake when possible.

Course navigation relies on extensive markings including orange caution tape, yellow arrows, and many confidence markers; reflective markers are used for low light conditions. The event is cupless; runners must carry a cup or bottle for aid stations. Collapsible cups may be available for purchase at packet pickup. Staffed aid stations provide water, ice, Tailwind, Saltstick, and snacks; some unstaffed stations offer more limited supplies and runners on exposed granite sections may need to carry extra water.
Timing is by chip with ankle straps collected at the venue and returned after finishing or when leaving the course. Drop bags may be placed by the start area or at the Gate 360 Bridge location but are not monitored or transported. For 2026 the race partners with the Great Springs Project to support a regional greenway effort between Austin and San Antonio. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
