Holiday Victory Lap
The Holiday Victory Lap is a winter running event held at Pace Bend Park near Austin, Texas. The race features a variety of distances held on a scenic paved circuit, offering participants a festive atmosphere during the Christmas holiday season. This event is part of the Advent Run to New Year Challenge.
The competition takes place on a strategic loop design, with each lap measuring 1.64 miles. The course is entirely paved, providing smooth and consistent running conditions. The profile is characterized by minimal elevation and gentle descents, intended to reduce muscle fatigue while offering enough variety to engage different muscle groups. Because of the looped nature of the course, runners have the opportunity to set up personal aid stations that they can access every 1.64 miles.
The event includes professional chip timing with frequent split times recorded for every lap. The format is designed to be spectator-friendly, as supporters can cheer for athletes multiple times from the same location. The course is designed with Boston qualification in mind, and USATF certification is pending.
