Holiday Victory Lap and Star of Texas
Taking place at Pace Bend Park in Spicewood, the Holiday Victory Lap and Star of Texas event features a variety of long-distance and short-distance running options. The marathon course is USATF-certified and serves as a Boston Marathon qualifier. The event is part of a winter marathon series and the Advent Run to New Year Challenge.
Participants run on a strategic loop course that is 1.64 miles per lap. This format allows runners to become familiar with the elevation and pacing of the route throughout the race. The surface is 100% paved and includes moderate climbs and gentle descents. A significant feature of this layout is the personal aid station area, which runners can access every 1.64 miles to utilize their own pre-set nutrition.
Available distances include:
- 50 Mile Ultramarathon
- 50K Ultramarathon
- Marathon (16 loops)
- Half Marathon (8 loops)
- 10K (4 loops)
- 5K (2 loops)
The loop structure provides a spectator-friendly environment where supporters can see participants multiple times from the same location. The event utilizes professional chip timing, providing accurate splits for every lap completed. For those in the marathon and ultramarathon categories, personal pacers are permitted for a fee after the first loop. All finishers receive a commemorative medal and a challenge coin.
