Event Overview
Medved's Eggcellent Adventure is a team-based harrier game and scavenger hunt held in Rochester, New York. Based at the Irondequoit Beer Company, the event requires participants to navigate a high-energy "choose-your-own-adventure" course. Teams receive a list of locations and challenges on the day of the event, including both mandatory and optional tasks. Participants must plot their own routes to collect points within a 75-minute timeframe.
Participation and Requirements
The event focuses on team coordination, requiring squads of 5 to 10 players. Teams must document their progress to earn points by posting photos or videos of the entire group at designated locations to a specific social media group. Groups without social media access may participate by using their own Polaroid cameras and presenting physical photos for scoring at the conclusion of the hunt.
Essential safety equipment is mandatory for all participants. Required gear includes:
- Headlamps
- Reflective gear
Scoring and Bonuses
Points are awarded for completing tasks between the designated start and end markers. Additional scoring opportunities are available through various activities:
- Donating to the Flower City Critters Small Animal Rescue
- Wearing spring-themed costumes
- Utilizing ASICS demo shoes or personal ASICS gear
- Finding hidden bonus opportunities throughout the scavenger hunt area
