Medved Madness Trail Races
The Medved Madness Trail Races take place at Mendon Ponds Park, with the event hub located at Stewart Lodge in Honeoye Falls, New York. Participants navigate trail systems that change each year based on current trail conditions. The event includes several distance options, though exact mileages are approximate and finalized on the day of the race:
- 13 Miles (Long Course): This distance is estimated to be between 11 and 15 miles.
- 5 Miles (Short Course): This distance is estimated to be between 4 and 6 miles.
- 1K: A free trail race for children under ten years old.
The long course features one basic aid station located approximately between the fifth and sixth mile markers. Runners are expected to carry their own hydration and nutrition throughout the duration of the event. An early start option is available for the long course for participants who anticipate completing a trail half marathon in three hours or more, though these participants are not eligible for administrative prizes.
Parking is available in the beach parking lot or along the park roads. Indoor bathrooms are located on-site, opening after registration begins. A post-race barbecue is held near Stewart Lodge following the conclusion of the runs. Packet pickup is held on the day prior to the race at a local running outfitter, with limited pickup available on race morning.
