Meat Sweats Sizzler Run
The Meat Sweats Sizzler Run takes place in Chickamauga, Georgia, serving as an opening event for the Chickamauga Blue & Gray BBQ Festival. The event is centered around the local barbecue culture and encourages participants to be active before visiting the festival vendors.
Participants can choose from two distinct distances:
- 5K (3.1 miles)
- 1 Mile Hot Sauce Mile
The 1 Mile Hot Sauce Mile includes a specific challenge where runners have the option to take a hot sauce dash during the race. All participants across both distances receive a race t-shirt and a finisher medal upon completion. The event organizers encourage the use of costumes, specifically those with barbecue themes such as bacon, pigs, or pitmasters.
Awards are presented to the overall male and female finishers. Recognition is also provided for various age groups ranging from 0–9 up to 60+. After the races, the venue transitions into a full festival atmosphere featuring live music, local makers, and various food vendors specializing in ribs and brisket.
