McLean Mill 10K
The McLean Mill 10K is race seven of eight in the Vancouver Island Race Series. It takes place at McLean Mill National Historic Site, 5633 Smith Rd, Port Alberni, BC, Canada. The course starts and finishes within the historic site, is described as rolling and rural, and the final 500 m is flat and downhill. The event is open to runners, racewalkers, walkers, and wheelchair athletes. Only registered guide dogs are permitted; visually impaired participants accompanied by an assisting runner or guide dog must start at the back of the field.
Registration, fees and event rules
Online registration will close at 12 noon on Friday, April 4. Entry fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. Advertised prices include administrative charges; 5% tax (GST) is added and an online processing fee also applies. Payment is in Canadian dollars; VISA, MasterCard, AMEX and Discover are accepted. The event rules state no roller blades, strollers, or personal bicycles; designated official cyclists only. Headphones are not recommended while racing; participants who impede others or emergency services and cannot hear instructions may face disqualification.
