McLean Firecracker 5K and Kids Mile
This neighborhood running event takes place at the South Shore Clubhouse in Belmont, NC. It includes a short kids fun run and a community 5K, with the start and finish at the clubhouse parking area.
The event supports Team for Kids; entry is donation only and funds are directed to that organization to help provide free youth races and fitness programs. There are no timing chips used for these runs.
Course format is provided by loop counting: the kids route is a single loop and the 5K consists of three loops, both beginning and ending at the clubhouse. Volunteers are listed as needed to help keep the course safe and to provide on-course support.
