The Ruth McKenzie Preserve race takes place in Clovis, CA on Sunday, April 12, 2026. The event includes the following distances:
- Half Marathon
- 10k Run/Walk
- 5k Run/Walk
- Kids 1/2 Mile Run (open to ages 12 and under)
- Kids 1/4 Mile Run (open to ages 7 and under; registration ends April 11, 2026)
Packet pickup is scheduled at Fleet Feet Sports Fresno (9447 N Fort Washington, Suite 106, Fresno, CA) on April 3, and there is race day packet pickup at the McKenzie Preserve on April 5. Parking is available near the preserve entrance with volunteers guiding vehicles.
Course and logistics
The Half Marathon route uses dirt roads and single track with rolling hills and one steep climb to the top of Table Mountain. The 10k and 5k routes are primarily flat to rolling hills. The course surface has rocks and ruts; runners are asked to watch their footing. Course markings include orange ribbon, orange flags, and signs with directional arrows and distance labels.
Aid stations supply water, Spring Energy Gels, Gatorade, and salty and sweet snacks. Aid station locations by race:
- 5k: mile 1.8
- 10k: miles 2.7 and 4.8 (turnaround)
- Half Marathon: miles 2.7, 4.8, 6.8, 9.2, and 11.1
All finishers in the Half Marathon, 10k, 5k, and Kids races receive a finishers medal. The Half Marathon, 10k, and 5k have overall male and female awards and awards three deep in 10-year age groups. Post-race provisions include water, Gatorade, beer for those 21 and over, picnic tables, shade, snacks, and posted results.
Location
The race is held at the Ruth McKenzie Table Mountain Preserve, a 2,960-acre property of grassland and oak woodland that includes basalt table lands and vernal pools.
