Event

The McKee Southern 6 Trail Race is a six-kilometer trail running event held on the White Oak Mountain trails on the campus of Southern Adventist University in Collegedale, Tennessee. The 2026 edition takes place on February 22, 2026. The event is organized by Southern's Outdoor Adventure Program.

Course and prizes

The course is about 6K (approximately 3.6 miles) with roughly 440 feet of vertical gain, routed mostly on rolling, hard-packed mountain bike trails. The course includes a steep climb in the first mile and a rolling descent over the final 2.5 miles. Cash prizes totaling over $900 are distributed among overall and masters top finishers and the top male and female Southern Adventist University student finishers. The race also maintains male and female course-record bounties that roll over and grow if not claimed. Current course records are 22:04 (men) and 26:14 (women).

Registration, fees and extras

Online registration is capped at 175 entrants and closes in February; up to 75 additional participants may be registered on race day during packet pickup. Entry fee is $40 (including taxes and processing fees). Southern Adventist University students and youth under 18 receive a 66% discount. A race shirt is provided for registrations completed before February 1 when that option applies.

Beneficiary

Proceeds support Southern's Adventure Program Affinity Fund, which helps bring disadvantaged, inner-city children from Hamilton County schools to the campus ropes course and other outdoor programs. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
