The McKee Southern 6 Trail Race is an annual six kilometer trail race held on White Oak Mountain trails in Collegedale, Tennessee. It is organized by Southern Adventist University’s Outdoor Adventure Program and is based at the Hickman Science Center, 4843 Colcord Drive, Collegedale, TN 37363. The event offers cash prizes totaling over $900, distributed among overall and masters top finishers and the top Southern Adventist University student finishers. Course, registration and proceeds
The course is 6K (about 3.6 miles) with approximately 440 feet of vertical gain, mainly on rolling, hard-packed mountain bike trails. The route features a steep climb in the first mile and a rolling descent over the final 2.5 miles. Online registration is capped at 175 entries, with up to 75 additional participants accepted during day-of packet pickup. The registration fee is $40 including taxes and processing; Southern Adventist University students and youth under 18 receive a 66% discount. The event also maintains course-record bounties; the current men's record time is 22:04 (with a $200 bounty) and the current women's record time is 26:14 (with a $100 bounty). Proceeds support the Adventure Program Affinity Fund, which funds ropes course and outdoor programs for disadvantaged, inner-city children from Hamilton County schools.
