McKee Southern 6 Trail Race

The McKee Southern 6 is the 17th annual six kilometer trail race presented by Southern Adventist University's Outdoor Adventure Program. It is held on the White Oak Mountain trails on the university campus in Collegedale, Tennessee.

Prize money totaling over $900 will be distributed among the top finishers: 1st through 3rd overall male and female, 1st through 3rd masters male and female, and the top male and female Southern Adventist University student finishers. The event also maintains male and female course-record bounties; bounties are paid when a corresponding record is broken and are banked to grow if unclaimed. Current course records stand at 22:04 for men and 26:14 for women with active bounty amounts.

The course distance is 6K (approximately 3.6 miles) with about 440 feet of vertical gain. Trails are mostly rolling, hard-packed mountain bike tracks. The route features a steep climb in the first mile followed by roughly 2.5 miles of rolling descent to the finish.

Online registration is capped at 175 runners and closes in February; up to 75 additional participants may register during packet pickup on race day. Registration fees are $40 including taxes and processing fees, with a 66% discount for Southern Adventist University students and youth under 18. A race shirt is included for entries completed before February 1.

Proceeds support the Adventure Program Affinity Fund, which brings disadvantaged, inner-city children from Hamilton County schools to on-campus ropes courses and other outdoor programs. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
