SANGAMAM '26 : Run for a Cause
SANGAMAM '26 is a community run and walk on July 25, 2026, at Tipton Park South Shelter, 2401 General Electric Road, Bloomington, IL 61704. The event offers two distances:
- 5K Run/Walk
- 2K Run/Walk
Registration opens May 1, 2026 and closes June 22, 2026. The registration fee is $15.00.
Proceeds from the event will be donated to local non-profits that run programs to overcome poverty and provide food supplies for the needy. The event statement explains that "Sangamam" in Tamil means confluence or assembly, reflecting the aim to bring the community together and support local causes.
Registered children under 15 will receive toy water guns and there are planned post-race kids' fun games. T-shirt and bib pickup is scheduled for July 24, 2026 at Tipton Park South Shelter on General Electric Road; items also may be collected on the day of the event.
Awards are given for each distance. For both the 5K and the 2K there are top overall male and female awards and age group awards for male and female in these brackets: 7 & below; 8 to 10; 11 to 13; 14 to 17; 18 to 29; 30 to 39; 40 to 49; 50 & up.
