McGuire's Breakfast Challenge
McGuire's Breakfast Challenge is the 46th annual event featuring two consecutive runs at Hidden Valley Elementary School in Santa Rosa, California on November 29, 2026. The event offers two separate races, run one after the other; the 3K is held first and the 8K begins when the 3K is complete. Participants may enter one event or both.
The distances are:

- 8K
Both courses start and finish in front of Hidden Valley Elementary School. The 3K route goes south on Bonita Vista Lane and follows a short loop via Chanate Road, Parker Hill Road, Leete Avenue, Aaron Drive, and Sleepy Hollow Drive before returning to Bonita Vista Lane. The 8K route goes north on Bonita Vista Lane, continues through Deer Park Drive, Sleepy Hollow Drive, Aaron Drive, Leete Avenue, Parker Hill Road and Fountaingrove Parkway, then uses the Chanate Road exit and returns to Bonita Vista Lane for the finish.
Registration options distinguish Empire Runners Club members and non-members. Empire Runners Club members can pre-register online at no cost; limited race day registration is available for an additional fee. Non-members may pre-register online for a fee or register on race day for a higher total fee. New 2027 membership options include youth, adult, and family levels, and include entry to this race.
A breakfast potluck takes place indoors in the school auditorium after the 8K. Participants are asked to bring a food or drink item to share and, if possible, their own plates and utensils. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
