McConnell 5K Run/Walk and 1 Mile Walk - Columbus, OH
The McConnell 5K Run/Walk and 1 Mile Walk is a fundraising event on May 9, 2026, held on the OhioHealth McConnell Heart Health Center campus in Columbus, OH. The event benefits the OhioHealth Foundation and is the 15th annual edition.
The event offers two distances:
- 5K (3.1 miles) Run/Walk
- 1 Mile Walk
The course combines paved road surfaces and a partially wooded looped trail around the McConnell campus. The first half of the 5K follows roads and a loop of the front parking lot; the second half continues on a wooded trail that features rolling hills and one notable incline. The 5K is generally flat with one or two hill sections and an uphill approach near mile two. Both events start near the pond at the back of the McConnell Heart Health Center. There is one water stop on course.
Both the 5K and the 1 Mile Walk are chip timed; timing chips are attached to the back of the race bib. Entry fees include a short sleeve event t-shirt (guaranteed for registrations by April 19) and a goody bag. Packet pickup is available before the event and on race day. No dogs are allowed. The event will be held rain or shine unless dangerous weather conditions occur. Awards are given to top overall finishers and to age-group places for the 5K.
