Event overview
The McConnell 5K Run/Walk and 1 Mile Walk is a fundraiser benefiting the OhioHealth Foundation on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at the McConnell Heart Health Center in Columbus, OH (3773 Olentangy River Rd). The event includes two distances:
- 5K (3.1 miles)
- 1 Mile
Entry fee includes one short sleeve event t-shirt and a goody bag. T-shirts are guaranteed for registrations completed on or before Sunday, April 19. Both events are chip timed with the timing chip attached to the back of the race bib.
Course and logistics
The course uses a combination of paved roads, parking lot loops, and a partially wooded looped trail on the McConnell campus. Most of the 5K is flat with one or two hills; the trail section has rolling hills and one notable incline. Both events start near the pond at the back of the McConnell Heart Health Center. There is one water stop on course. No dogs are allowed.
Packet pickup is available on the days before the race at the McConnell Heart Health Center and on race day at the registration table. Parking is available at the McConnell Heart Health Center. The event is held rain or shine and may be canceled for dangerous conditions. Registered participants are entered into door prize drawings; silent auction items are available before the start.
