OhioHealth Capital City Half & Quarter Marathon
The OhioHealth Capital City Half & Quarter Marathon is an annual road running event in Downtown Columbus, Ohio, held on April 24, 2027. In its 24th year the event brings together more than 12,000 runners, walkers, spectators, and volunteers across multiple course options and neighborhood streets.
Distances offered include:
- Half Marathon : 13.1 miles
- Quarter Marathon : 6.55 miles
- Columbus Promise 5K : 3.1 miles
All courses start and finish on South High Street at the Columbus Commons in the heart of downtown. The course features over 30 bands and other on-course entertainment. Race amenities and event features include finisher medals, a tech shirt, a VIP quarter zip option, free race photos presented by OhioHealth, and an official postrace music playlist.
Finish line activities center on the Byers Xtra Mile Finish Line Party and the PNC Post Race Concert, which include complimentary food and drinks, live concert entertainment, and additional postrace activities. Examples of postrace offerings listed for recent events include Jet's Pizza, Panera bagels, and Go Brewing nonalcoholic beer.
The event is a longtime fundraiser for the OhioHealth Foundation, with proceeds supporting the foundation's mission to provide exceptional care. The annual economic impact of the event is estimated at $7.5 million. The race has been recognized by USA Today readers and was voted the #2 half marathon in the country in recent national awards.
