Maverick Criterium : Norman, OK (May 30–31, 2026)
Maverick Criterium is a two-day cycling and running event held in Norman, Oklahoma. The program combines criterium races, fondo rides, a 5 km road run and a short downtown run with an option that includes beer. Events take place around the downtown area near 562 W Main St.
Distances included in the event:
- 5 km Campus Corner 5k
- 0.8 miles Downtown 1-mile Beer Run
- 20 miles Maverick Fondo Piccolo
- 40 miles Maverick Fondo Medio
The schedule includes multiple criterium categories for men, women, masters and junior riders, plus kids races for very young participants. Several races carry cash purses; listed purses include $2,550 for Pro/1/2 fields and $1,050 for some masters categories, and smaller payouts such as $400 for certain Cat 3 races. Entry fees vary by event and category, with many criterium categories listed at $55, the 5k at $30, and the Fondo options at $40 to $55. Kids races are listed as free.
