About the race
Matt St.James 5K Run/Walk is scheduled for August 22, 2026 at 2301 Westside Drive, Rochester, NY. The event uses the cross country trails at that location and includes a separate kids 1K held after the 5K. Walkers are included in the 5K and are asked to line up behind runners.

Registration details note a pre-registration period that offers a reduced fee of $25 through July 31. Fees increase to $30 for registrations between August 1 and August 21, with a higher fee on race day. Participants who pre-register for the 5K/walk will receive a T-shirt; later registrations receive a T-shirt while supplies last. T-shirts are also available for purchase.
The 5K will use chip timing. Awards will be presented for age divisions: 9 & under; 10-13; 14-19; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69; 70+. If the race is cancelled no awards will be given. The event is USATF sanctioned and will support the nonprofit David’s Refuge, which provides respite and wellness opportunities and community support for families and caregivers of children with special needs or life-threatening medical conditions.
