Mathews Marathon Team Relay
The Mathews Marathon offers a team relay option on October 17, 2026. Teams may include 2 to 5 members. Recommended transition points and detailed instructions are provided for a five-person team; teams may use fewer members and divide the 26.2 mile course to suit their needs.
Entry fees are tiered by team size: 2 or 3 person teams $135 and 4 or 5 person teams $200. Teams must arrange their own shuttles and are responsible for timing individual member splits for each leg. Organizers will provide an overall finish time for each team only; individual split times are not centrally recorded at transition areas because consistent split timing is not guaranteed across varied team compositions and because timing equipment at all transition points requires WiFi and additional volunteers.
All relay participants receive a commemorative plaid shirt and a finisher medal. Top finishing teams receive event awards. A three-member team set the relay course record in 2025 with an overall time of 3:39:00.3.
A virtual relay option is available for teams that cannot attend the event day. Route maps and turn-by-turn directions can be downloaded for independent runs in Mathews. Teams that complete the course on their own schedule may submit overall and/or split times to the event organizers for inclusion in the record books.
