Mathews Marathon Team Relay
The Mathews Marathon Team Relay is a relay option for the Mathews Marathon on October 17, 2026. Teams of 2 to 5 members share the 26.2 mile marathon course, using recommended transition points and published instructions for a five-person team. Teams may participate with fewer members and divide the course to fit their needs.
Entry fees are published by team size: 2 or 3 person teams and 4 or 5 person teams have different fees. All team participants receive a commemorative plaid shirt and a finisher medal. Top finishing teams are recognized with event awards.
Teams receive an overall finish time from race timing. Teams are responsible for tracking individual member split times for each leg and for their own logistics between transition points. Overall results alone are used to determine relay awards because team compositions vary and timing at every transition area may not be available due to limited WiFi and volunteer resources.
A virtual relay option is available. Teams can run the route on their own schedule in Mathews using downloadable route maps and turn-by-turn directions; virtual finish times and splits can be submitted to the organizers to be recorded in event records.
