PTC New Year's Day 2026 5K : Newport News Park
The PTC New Year's Day 2026 5K takes place on Thursday, January 1, 2026, at Newport News Park (Picnic Shelters 19 & 20, across from the Ranger Station), 13560 Jefferson Avenue, Newport News, VA 23603. The event is presented by Peninsula Track Club and York High School Cross Country / Track & Field. Events offered:

Event details
The course is described as fast and nearly flat, using scenic trails inside Newport News Park. Course judges will verify the walker division. Awards will be given to the top three male and female overall finishers and the top three male and female in each age group (19 & under; 20–29; 30–39; 40–49; 50–59; 60–69; 70–79; 80+). The walker division also has top three male and female awards.
Online registration closes December 30, 2025. Register by December 3 to guarantee a race shirt; shirts after that date are limited and not guaranteed. Bib pick-up and race day registration will be available at the bib area. All proceeds benefit York High School Cross Country and Track & Field. The event is hosted and coordinated by York High School Cross Country / Track & Field and lists several local sponsors. 2026 is the last year the race will be held in Newport News Park.
