Mathews Marathon & Half Marathon

Mathews Marathon & Half Marathon, organized by the Mathews Outdoor Club in Mathews County, Virginia, features a flat course billed as the world’s flattest race. The marathon and half marathon traverse rural backroads, with dirt, gravel and paved sections, and the marathon route reaches three beaches while the half ends at a beach. A marathon relay option is available.

The course is being measured for USATF certification for 2025. Start and finish are at Put In Creek Pavilion in the town center.
