About the race
The Mateship Run is a community running event held in Currumbin, Queensland, that raises funds and awareness for veteran services and commemorates Remembrance Day. The event features a signature 11.11 km distance created as a nod to the Armistice at the 11th hour on the 11th day of the 11th month, with an official 10 km timing split recorded on course.
A team element applies to the 11.11 km event: the fastest four finishers from each team have their times added to form a combined team time. Teams can be all male, all female, or mixed.
Additional distance options are offered:
- 11.11 km Remembrance Day event with a 10 km split
- 5 km Mateship 5km
- 2.5 km Junior Dash
The event is staged at 165 Duringan Street, Currumbin, and supports the Veterans' Support Centre; funds raised are shown alongside the event. Entry categories include different pricing bands for each distance across registration periods. The format allows running, walking, or spectating alongside veterans, families, friends and community members while taking in the natural surroundings of Currumbin.
