Massapequa Firecracker 5K Run/Walk

All registrants receive a dry-fit T-shirt. All 5K finishers receive cold towels at the finish. Kids entertainment includes clowns, balloon animals, and face painting. Baked goods are provided to finishers by a local vendor. Raffle prizes are part of the event. Runners over 21 receive a complimentary Blue Point pint at the Tap Room in Massapequa Park following the race. Medals are awarded to all fun run finishers.
Awards include top three male and female overall finishers, a male and female masters award with special recognition, top resident awards for Massapequa Park, top three in multiple age groups, and top three wheelchair finishers. A $100 bonus is available for a new course record with target times of Men 14:28 and Women 17:11. Sponsor prizes include running shoes for certain top finishers.
The course is a USATF certified 3.1 mile route that starts at Park and Clark Boulevards, follows Park Boulevard and Walker Street into the Preserve, continues on the bike path and Clark Boulevard, and finishes on Lake Shore Drive at Brady Park.
