Massapequa Firecracker 5K Run/Walk : 2026
The Massapequa Firecracker is an annual road running event held at Brady Park in Massapequa Park, NY on June 14, 2026. The event includes a certified 3.1 mile course and a short kids fun run. Race proceeds fund Massapequa High School track scholarships.

The 5K uses a USATF certified route that begins at the corner of Park and Clark Boulevards, continues north on Park Boulevard, turns left onto Walker Street into the Preserve, follows the bike path south, then returns via Clark Boulevard and Lake Shore Drive to finish at Brady Park. The event is sanctioned by USATF-Long Island and scores as an individual race in the USATF-LI Grand Prix.
Registered participants receive a dry-fit T-shirt. Finish-line amenities for 5K participants include cold towels and baked goods. Kids entertainment is provided with clowns, balloon animals, face painting, and medals for all Fun Run finishers. Raffle prizes are offered, and runners over 21 are eligible for a complimentary Blue Point pint at the Tap Room in Massapequa Park after the event.
Awards recognize top overall and masters finishers, age-group placings, wheelchair finishers, a top Massapequa Park resident prize, and a bonus for a new course record. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
