Massapequa Firecracker 5K Run/Walk
The event in Massapequa Park, NY includes a 5-kilometer race and a 1/4 mile kids fun run. Registration is not yet open.

All registrants receive a dry-fit T-shirt. All 5K finishers receive cold towels and baked goods provided by All Round Foods. Kids entertainment includes clowns, balloon animals, and face painting. Raffle prizes are offered, and runners over 21 receive a complimentary Blue Point pint at a local tap room following the race. Medals are awarded to all Fun Run finishers.
Awards include top three male and female overall finishers, top masters awards, a top Massapequa Park resident prize, top three male and female finishers in multiple age divisions from 9 & under through 90+, and top three wheelchair finishers. A $100 bonus is offered for a new course record; current records listed are Men 14:28 (2014) and Women 17:11 (1996).
The certified 3.1 mile course begins at the corner of Park and Clark Boulevards, proceeds north on Park Boulevard, turns onto Walker Street into the Preserve, follows the bike path south, continues onto Clark Boulevard, then onto Lake Shore Drive to the finish at Brady Park.
Race proceeds fund Massapequa High School Track Scholarships. Bib pickup is available the day before at Runner’s Edge in Farmingdale and the day of the event at Brady Park, Massapequa Park.
