Massapequa Firecracker 5K Run/Walk
The Massapequa Firecracker is an annual community running event held in Massapequa Park, NY. The event features a certified 3.1-mile course that starts at the corner of Park and Clark Boulevards, follows Park Boulevard north, turns onto Walker Street into the Preserve, continues south on the bike path, returns to Clark Boulevard, and finishes on Lake Shore Drive at Brady Park.

Amenities listed for participants include a high-quality dry-fit T-shirt for registrants, cold towels for all 5K finishers, baked goods for finishers provided by a local vendor, kids entertainment such as clowns and face painting, raffle prizes, and a complimentary Blue Point pint for runners over 21 at the Tap Room in Massapequa Park following the race.
Awards are given for top overall finishers, top masters, top local resident, age-group placings across many age brackets, and top wheelchair finishers. The top overall and top masters winners receive running shoes from a local specialty store, and there is a $100 bonus for a new course record for men and women. Medals are awarded to all Fun Run finishers.
Race proceeds fund Massapequa High School Track Scholarships. Bib pickup is available at a local running store the day before and at Brady Park on race day.
