Massachusetts Run For The Fallen : Dedham, MA
The Massachusetts Run For The Fallen is a 5K timed run, walk, or ruck held at Barnes Memorial Park in Dedham on September 12, 2026. The event honors Massachusetts’ fallen service members and Gold Star families and commemorates the 25th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. Organizers will also honor police, fire, and EMS personnel lost since 9/11, with custom Hero markers lining the course.
The event offers multiple 5K categories including adult run/walk, adult ruck, child run/walk/ruck, and dedicated family categories for Gold Star families and families of fallen police, fire, and EMS. Registration fees listed by category are: adult entries $35, child entries $20, and Gold Star and family-of-fallen categories $25. Certain family categories may receive complimentary registration codes; registration opens July 14, 2026 and closes between September 6 and September 12 depending on category.
Participant packets include a bib and medal; the first 400 participants will receive a T-shirt (sizing not guaranteed). A reading ceremony for Fallen Hero names and a bib pick-up are scheduled as part of the event program. After the 5K there is a barbecue and family activities, which may include military vehicles and a bounce obstacle. Organizers state that 100% of donations remain in the state to fund grants for families of Fallen Heroes and families of those who served.
