The Thanksgiving Day 5K is an annual community event held in Palm Desert, California. Celebrating its 20th year, the race takes place on the morning of the holiday and serves as a local tradition that brings together over 5,000 participants, spectators, and volunteers. The primary objective of the gathering is to support Martha’s Village & Kitchen in its efforts to address hunger and homelessness throughout the Coachella Valley.
The event features a single distance for all participants:
- 3.1 Miles (5k) Run/Walk
The course is located along El Paseo, offering a route suitable for both runners and walkers. Participants can choose to enter as individuals or form teams. The event site includes a stage with a live DJ and a finish line experience designed for high energy. Following the race, there are trophy presentations for top performers.
Registration is divided into categories for adults and youth, with the latter covering participants between the ages of 4 and 17. Children aged 3 and under are permitted to participate free of charge.
