Martha Moats Baker
The Martha Moats Baker is a memorial trail run in the Jefferson National Forest, scheduled for Sat Aug 8, 2026, with the start at North River Gap, also known as the TWOT parking lot. The event is organized on a roughly 60 km course, with a shorter 50 km Party Route option.
- 60 km (about 38.7 miles)
- 50 km Party Route option
The course is not fully marked beyond some in and out sections at the first aid station. A GPX file, turnsheet, and map are provided for navigation and reference. There are three staffed aid stations at Reddish Knob (13.4 miles), Wolf Ridge (22.7 miles), and Grooms Ridge (30.2 miles). Liquids provided at those stations are water and sports drink. Each runner supplies one common food item for shared aid and may have up to three small ziplock bags, labeled with last name, transported to the aid stations; these bags are not for clothing or gear.
Logistics note that the TWOT lot is small and parking overflow is commonly along Tilghman Road; the location is remote and drive times from major nearby cities are substantial. Entry is limited and opens on Wed Jul 8, 2026 at 9:00 am, with a maximum field size of 60 runners. The event does not provide medical personnel or medical supplies; runners are responsible for their own health and safety. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
