Marshall Rec Indoor Triathlon & Kids Splash and Dash
The Marshall Recreation Center hosts an annual indoor triathlon that combines swimming, indoor cycling, and treadmill running. The event is described in materials as the Tri States only indoor triathlon and takes place at the Marshall Recreation Center in Huntington, West Virginia.
Indoor Triathlon distances:
- Adults: 300 yard swim, 8 miles on spinning bike, and 2 miles on treadmill
- Youth: 150 yard swim, 4 miles on spinning bike, and 1 mile on running track
Kids Splash and Dash is structured by age groups for participants aged 5 to 12. Distances for each age group are:
- Ages 5-6: 25 yard swim, .29 mile run, 2 track laps
- Ages 7-8: 50 yard swim, .41 mile run, 5 track laps
- Ages 9-10: 75 yard swim, 1 mile run, 7 track laps
- Ages 11-12: 100 yard swim, 1.29 mile run, 9 track laps
Registration opens 10/1/2026 and closes 3/4/2027. Listed registration fees are $30.00 for the Indoor Triathlon and $10.00 for the Kids Splash and Dash. Proceeds support student development activities for campus recreation staff, including leadership experiences and conference participation.
