Market to Market Relay Nebraska
The Market to Market Relay Nebraska is a day long team running relay that covers about 75 miles from the Omaha metro area to downtown Lincoln. Teams consist of 6 to 8 runners and the event is limited to 650 teams. The course includes 19 running stages plus a short team finish.
The course is divided into multiple stages and each runner typically runs about three stages. Stages vary in length and surface and the route follows bike trails, paved streets, gravel and crushed limestone roads, occasional dirt or off road sections, and short stretches near highways. Notable course features include Walnut Creek Lake, the Platte River and Lied Bridge, the Mopac Trail, and a finish in Lincoln’s Haymarket District near Memorial Stadium.
Post race activities occur at the foot of Memorial Stadium and include medals, drinks, food, music and free team photos. Exchange locations are spread along the route; many exchange points do not have a street address but are shown in the event course maps and race guide. The course can change from year to year for reasons such as construction or city growth, and the race guide provides final maps and detour information.
