About the race

The Market to Market Relay Nebraska is a day-long team running relay covering about 75ish miles between Omaha and Lincoln. Teams of six to eight runners divide the course into multiple stages; most runners cover about three stages each. The overall field is limited to 650 teams.

The route begins at Seymour Smith Park in Omaha and finishes in Lincoln’s Haymarket near Memorial Stadium. Stages run on a mix of paved bike trails, paved roads, gravel roads, crushed limestone trails and occasional short off-road sections. Individual stages typically range from about 3 to 5 miles; one listed stage is 5.6 miles and several stages are under 4 miles. Notable segments include the Keystone and Papio trails, Walnut Creek Lake Recreation Area, the MoPac Trail, and a crossing of the Platte River on the Lied Bridge.

Course details, exchange points and driving directions are provided in the Race Guide and an interactive course map. The course can change year to year for reasons such as construction or land access; recent updates adjusted several running and driving routes and moved at least one exchange point into town. After the team finish, the event offers a post-race gathering at Haymarket with medals, food, drinks, music and free team photos. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
