Market Square Day 10K
The Market Square Day 10K is a road race held as part of the Market Square Day festival in Portsmouth. The event takes place on June 13, 2026, and begins in Market Square in front of the North Church. The course winds through downtown Portsmouth and finishes at Strawbery Banke, giving participants a view of the city and its neighborhoods.
The race historically draws about 1,000 runners and commonly passes through streets where residents set up neighborhood breakfast gatherings along the route. Many downtown streets are closed for the Market Square Day festival, which affects parking and access in the area.
Since 2005 the race has been part of the Seacoast Road Race Series, a group of area events held from May through November that includes races ranging from 5K to 10K in communities across the Seacoast. The Series brought together multiple local races and has grown to include seven events.
The organizer is a 501c(3) nonprofit focused on Portsmouth arts, culture, and history. The event lists multiple sponsors and community partners and names Strawbery Banke as the race finish location. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
