Mare Island Half Marathon, 10K, 5K and Kid’s Dash : Vallejo, CA
The event takes place on Sunday, June 28, 2026, on Mare Island in Vallejo, California. Races are hosted at Mare Island Brewing Co., Coal Sheds, and the courses remain entirely on the island, combining waterfront views and historic naval yard features.
Distances offered:
- Half Marathon - historic naval yard, highest point, paved and unpaved sections.
- 10K - Admiral housing, San Pablo Bay Trail, waterfront finish.
- 5K - route near Old Admiral housing, stroller-friendly, dogs allowed with leash.
- Kid’s 0.5K Dash - 250m out-and-back around historic shipyard crane; parents encouraged.
The half marathon route reaches the island’s highest point with views of San Pablo Bay, Mt. Diablo, and Mt. Tamalpais and includes both paved and unpaved segments. The 10K and 5K use sections of the San Pablo Bay Trail and pass residential Admiral housing areas. Dogs are permitted only on the 5K course and must be kept on a short leash; registrants who plan to run with a dog will answer custom registration questions.
Pre-registered participants receive a race t-shirt, a finisher medal, and access to the post-race celebration at Mare Island Brewing Co. Overall and age-group awards are given to the top three finishers per division when a minimum of five registrants is met. Packet pickup is held at Mare Island Brewing Co., Coal Sheds; specific pickup times are set for the days before and the morning of the event.
