The 17th Annual Mardi Gras Madness is a community running event held in Valencia, California. Organized by the Junior Chamber International of Santa Clarita and the Santa Clarita Track Club, the event supports local youth programs, specifically providing marathon training experiences for teenagers through the Students Off And Running (SOAR) initiative.
The event offers several race distances to accommodate different participants:
- 10K
- 5K
- 1K (Mini Madness)
- Virtual 5K and 10K options
The course is USATF-certified and features a rolling circuit that includes scenic paseos and bridge overpasses. A significant portion of the route follows the South Fork River Trail. The venue at Valencia Town Center also hosts a Health & Fitness Expo, featuring live entertainment, a silent auction, and a beer garden. Awards are presented to the top three overall men and women, as well as the top three finishers in various age groups ranging from 10 and under to 60 and over. Dogs and strollers are permitted on the course. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
