Marathon du Mont-Mégantic
The Marathon du Mont-Mégantic takes place in Parc National du Mont-Mégantic; the fifth edition is scheduled for June 14, 2026. This trail running event is held in the Granit region and Estrie and includes several carefully chosen courses.
The event offers five distances for beginner, intermediate and advanced athletes. Among the races are:
- Marathon (solo)
- Marathon (relay)
- 15 km Classique Franceville
- 7 km Pain de sucre
The routes include rolling sections and technical sections, varied natural scenery with rivers and summits, and multiple viewpoints. There is a single start and finish for simplicity. The main marathon, 42 kilometers, has 1909 meters of elevation gain and some more demanding portions.
The organization emphasizes a minimal environmental impact with a leave-no-trace approach and invites participants to follow the same practice. All profits will be donated to La Bouée de Lac-Mégantic. The event includes awards and participation prizes and is presented with a family-friendly atmosphere.
