Maple City Half Marathon & 5K
The Maple City Half Marathon & 5K is an annual running event held in Norwalk, Ohio. Organized by the Norwalk Area United Fund, the race serves as a fundraiser to support local community resources and services. The event takes place in a small-city setting located between Toledo and Cleveland, approximately 30 miles south of Lake Erie.
Participants can choose between two main distances:
- 1/2 Marathon
- 5K
The 1/2 Marathon features a certified, one-loop course that passes through the historic central areas of the town. For the 2026 edition, the course is subject to adjustments due to planned construction on the Linwood Bridge. To ensure timely road reopenings, a pace requirement of 15 minutes per mile is in place; participants moving slower than this pace will be asked to continue their run on the sidewalks.
All registered runners in both distances receive a t-shirt and post-race refreshments. Those completing the 1/2 Marathon are also awarded a custom finisher medal. The event utilizes chip timing on participant bibs to record results. Entry fees are tiered based on registration timing and the number of participants already signed up.
