About the race
Manito Popcorn Festival 5K takes place at Veterans Park on Washington Street in Manito, Illinois on September 5, 2026. The event program includes a main 5K run/walk, a 5K Hand Cycle division, and a Popcorn Inflatable Dash that covers two blocks.
The 5K course measures 3.1 miles and follows flat blacktop streets in two laps, beginning and ending at Veterans Park. The hand cycle division is timed separately and has an award for the top finisher. Overall awards are given to the top male and top female by gun time. Age group awards are based on net time and recognize the top three males and top three females in these categories: 13 & Under; 14-19; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69; 70 & Over. Age group double dipping is not allowed.
Early packet pick-up is available the day before the event at Bernshausen Automotive on North Washington Street in Manito. Timing and scoring are provided by ShaZam Racing. The Popcorn Inflatable Dash includes an option to wear inflatable costumes for a small fee payable the day of the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
