Mango Madness 2026
Mango Madness takes place on June 13, 2026, with the start and finish at Hālau Kū Māna School Lower Parking Lot, 2101 Makiki Heights Drive, Honolulu, HI. The entry fee is $35. Registration opens May 24 and closes June 10. Only one ticket may be purchased per account.
The race runs on the Tantalus Trail System and is listed as 10+ miles because the exact course is not disclosed and changes yearly. The route uses steep, technical singletrack with rock, roots, mud, and significant elevation gain. There is no publicly available course map; runners must follow course marshals and pink ribbons. Blue ribbons indicate an incorrect route. Fourteen course marshals will be on course.
Logistics include first-come, first-served parking at the lot, limited street parking on Makiki Heights Drive with requirements to keep tires off the roadway, and enforcement of no parking above the Hawaii Nature Center entrance. Race morning check-in is required at a table in the parking lot; if a participant misses the check-in cut-off they must wait until after the race has started to register and their time will not be adjusted. Bibs are assigned at check-in and must be displayed on the front of the body.
The event is cupless; participants should bring a reusable cup or bottle for post-race hydration. One limited aid station is located about halfway; participants are expected to be self-sufficient and are encouraged to carry at least 50 ounces of water. Two porta-potties will be available at the start area. If a participant leaves the course they must check back with volunteers or at the finish for accounting.
Age rules require entrants to be at least 15 years old. Entrants under 18 must submit a signed parent or guardian waiver within three days of registration; waivers are not accepted on race day.
Every finisher receives a prize. The top 10 finishers in each category receive awards. The first runners to reach the top of Concrete Hill during the race will be recognized as Emperors of the Mountain 2026. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
