Manchester Backyard Ultra
Manchester Backyard Ultra is an endurance format held at Giants Seat Scout Camp, Off Ringley Road West, Radcliffe, Manchester, M26 1DY on 13th June 2026. The event uses an out and back course that is fully waymarked and marshalled; fluorescent "Caution Runners" signs and directional arrows guide participants from the first loop.
The format requires participants to complete a lap of approximately 4.167 miles (6.7 km) every hour. Each lap must be finished within 60 minutes and any remaining time may be used for rest. Runners continue repeating the loop on the hourly interval until only one runner remains.
Event facilities listed for Manchester include an entry ticket, participant medals, a winner trophy and medal, a limited rest marquee for those without a pitch, a pitch to set up a personal rest area, parking for one car with visitor parking on a first come, first served basis, hot showers, hot and cold water, drinks, snacks, and event photography.
Participants are required to bring a head torch, chest torch, or waist torch. High-visibility clothing is strongly recommended for night loops to increase visibility and safety.
