Maldon 5K Handicap Series : Maldon Promenade Park
The Maldon 5K Handicap Series is a five-race evening series held on Thursdays at Maldon Promenade Park, Park Drive, Maldon, Essex, CM9 5JQ. The series comprises five events in 2026 on 23 April, 14 May, 4 June, 25 June and 16 July. The event is for runners who can complete 5 km in 40 minutes or less.
Entry covers the full five-race series. Entries opened on 14 February 2026 at 14:00 and the series sold out in six minutes. A waiting list is available; places released by withdrawals are offered automatically in waiting list order and refunds are issued once a withdrawn place is taken. No deferrals to 2027 are available. Fees are the same as 2025: £12 for affiliated runners and £14 for non-affiliated runners, plus a small booking fee of approximately £1.
The Maldon 5K supports the Maldon & District Sea Cadets with a donation from event profits. Runners may make an optional voluntary donation when registering or at a later time. The series is organised under UK Athletics rules, licence number 30553, and the course has a Certificate of Course Accuracy number 23/088.
