Event Overview
The Making Tracks for South 5K is an annual athletic event held in West Amwell, New Jersey. This event marks its ninth edition in 2026 and serves as a fundraiser to support the South Hunterdon Regional High School and Middle School track and cross country programs. The proceeds are used to purchase track and field equipment and to provide general support for these school sports teams.
The course takes participants through the hills of West Amwell, with the event beginning at South Hunterdon Regional High School. The local track facility, which was completed in early 2020, serves as a central point for the school's most popular athletic program. The race is scheduled to take place regardless of weather conditions, and it will proceed rain or shine.
Participants can choose between two primary distances:
- 5K run
- 2K fitness walk
Registration includes a commemorative t-shirt for those who sign up by the designated deadline in late April. Participants who register after this date or on the day of the event are not guaranteed a shirt, as quantities become limited. On-site registration is available on the morning of the event in the high school auditorium lobby. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
