This annual 5K run and 2K walk supports the South Hunterdon school track and cross country teams. The 5K route is an out-and-back course starting at the high school and winding through the West Amwell hills. It's a rain-or-shine event with a t-shirt for early registrants.

Event Details

The Making Tracks for South 5K is a fundraising event for the South Hunterdon Regional High School and Middle School Track and Cross Country programs. The 2026 event is the ninth annual edition. It takes place in West Amwell, New Jersey.

Two events are offered:

5K Run
2K Fitness Walk

Both events are held on the same day and start at South Hunterdon Regional High School in Lambertville. The 5K course is an out-and-back road run through the hills of West Amwell. It starts at the high school parking lot entrance on Rocktown-Lambertville Road.

The event happens rain or shine. Participants who register before a specified date will receive a t-shirt, with a limited supply for late and race-day registrants. Funds raised are used to purchase track and field equipment for the school teams. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
