Major Reid Nannen Memorial 5K
The Major Reid Nannen Memorial 5K is scheduled for July 4, 2026 in Hopedale, Illinois, centered at the Hopedale Wellness Center (222 Northwest Grove St, Hopedale, IL 61747). The event honors U.S. Marine Major Reid B. Nannen, a Hopedale native who gave his life in service while training at TOPGUN NAS in Fallon, Nevada on March 1, 2014.

All registration is handled online and participants are asked to complete registration prior to arrival. A yard sign program for the 1 Mile Memorial Walk is offered for a $25 donation; signs honoring a named person will be placed along the course. The deadline to order yard signs and to be guaranteed a shirt size is June 15. Packet pickup is available at the Hopedale Wellness Center on July 3 from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM; day of pickup will be at the race registration table.
Awards for the 5K include monetary prizes for the fastest male and female overall by gun time. Age group awards are given to the top two male and female finishers based on net chip time in these groups: 9 and under; 10-14; 15-19; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69; 70-79; 80 and over.
Participants can expect a course that passes through the heart of Hopedale, live-time results, an awards ceremony on race day, and a post-race gathering with snacks and beverages. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
