Magnolia Festival 5K and 1-Mile Fun Run
The Magnolia Festival 5K and 1-Mile Fun Run is an athletic event held in Durant, Oklahoma, organized by the Durant Area Chamber of Commerce as part of the local Magnolia Festival. The race takes place on W. Evergreen Street, located between 2nd Street and 3rd Street, directly in front of Opera House Coffee.
Participants can choose from the following distances:
- 3.1 Miles (5K Run)
- 1 Mile (Fun Run)
- 3.1 Miles (Virtual 5K Run/Walk)
The virtual option allows participants to complete the distance at any location, including on treadmills or hiking trails, between May 18 and May 30. While the virtual event does not include awards, participants living more than 30 miles away can have their event t-shirts mailed to them.
For the in-person events, the 1-Mile Fun Run provides medals to all finishers. The 3.1 Miles race features competitive awards, including trophies for the overall male and female winners. Medals are also awarded to the top three finishers in age categories ranging from 14 and under to 70 and up. Packet pickup is available at Opera House Coffee on the Friday preceding the main event or on the morning of the races. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
