Midwest Financial Group Madison Mini Marathon : event description
The 18th Annual Midwest Financial Group Madison Mini Marathon is a multi-distance running event in Madison, Wisconsin. The race center is at Memorial Union Terrace, 800 Langdon St, Madison, WI 53703. The course passes city and campus landmarks including Capitol Square, the Dane County Farmer’s Market, State Street, Camp Randall Stadium, the Kohl Center, the Arboretum, Picnic Point, and the University of Wisconsin campus.
Events within the weekend include a half marathon, a 5K, and a kids run. The half and 5K start and finish near N Park St just past Science Hall. The kids run start is at Park and University, marked by an inflatable arch. The event includes pacers for the half marathon and professional race timing by Race Day Events.
Post-race activities take place at the 14th Mile Post-Race Party on the Memorial Union Terrace and feature live music and views of Lake Mendota. Participants aged 21 and over are eligible for one complimentary beer; non-alcoholic options and finisher snacks are also available. Race entries include a fully sublimated unisex tech shirt by Headsweats, a custom finisher medal, free digital race photos and a post-race highlight video, and free participant tracking with RaceJoy.
