Event overview
The Midwest Financial Group Madison Mini Marathon takes place on Saturday, August 8, 2026, in Madison, Wisconsin. The venue and post-race area are at Memorial Union Terrace, 800 Langdon St, Madison. The event includes these races:
- Half Marathon - road race through Madison
- 5K - shorter road race option
- Kids Run - youth distance with an inflatable arch start
The half and 5K start and finish are on N Park St (just past Science Hall). The Kids Run start is at Park and University.
The race course passes several Madison landmarks, including Capitol Square, the Dane County Farmer’s Market, State Street, Camp Randall Stadium, the Kohl Center, the Arboretum, Picnic Point, and the University of Wisconsin campus.

Post-race activities take place at the 14th Mile Post-Race Party on the Memorial Union Terrace with live music and views of Lake Mendota. Participants aged 21 and over receive one complimentary beer; non-alcoholic drinks are available. Race entries include a fully sublimated unisex tech shirt, a custom finisher medal, finisher snacks, professional race timing, free digital race photos, a post-race highlight video, participant tracking, and pacers for the half marathon. Indoor pre-race warm-up areas and restrooms are provided, and nearby parking is available. A mascot appearance by Bucky Badger is listed among event features.
