Ultra Running Event in Madison
The MadCity Ultras take place at Vilas Shelter within Madison City Park. This event has been held since 2007 and utilizes a 10K loop known as the Arb Loop. The course features the landscape of the University of Wisconsin-Madison (UW) Arboretum. Both the start and finish lines are located on Lake Wingra Drive.
Participants can choose from several individual and team categories. The 2026 edition serves as the host for the 100K National Championships. Results from the championship event allow top finishers to potentially qualify for Team USA to compete in the 100K World Championships.
The following distances and categories are available:
- 100K 100K Road Championships
- 100K 100K Solo Road Race
- 50K 50K Solo Road Race
- 100K 100K Team Relay
- 50K 50K Team Relay
The relay options permit groups to compete against one another in categories determined by the sum of the ages of all team members. All races are held on road surfaces through the arboretum grounds. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
