Mad Trapper Camp Fortune Classic
The Mad Trapper Camp Fortune Classic is a singletrack trail race held at Camp Fortune in Chelsea, Quebec, in the Gatineau Hills near Ottawa. Organized by Mad Trapper Racing (est. 2002), the event uses the area’s mountain bike and hiking trails. Courses feature roots, rocks, rollers and bridges, and are maintained and clearly marked.
Available distances:
- 3K Try-a-Trail with gentler elevation and mixed footing.
- 5K single loop of flowing mountain bike singletrack.
- 10K two laps of the 5K loop, with a lodge passage between laps.
There are no aid stations on the trails; water, electrolyte drink and gels are available at the Camp Fortune lodge. Course maps will be posted on Strava. The event includes post-race barbecue hospitality at the lodge and random prize draws. The race has no cutoff time and emphasizes continuous singletrack rather than ski-hill repeats.
