2026 M3 Monikie Triathlon Festival
The M3 Monikie Triathlon Festival is organised by Monifieth Triathlon Club (M3) and supported by Triathlon Scotland and the British Triathlon Federation. It takes place at Monikie Country Park on Saturday 4 July 2026 and includes several standard distance multisport events.
- Standard Distance Aquabike: ~1500m swim, ~40Km cycle
- Standard Distance Triathlon (Individual): ~1500m swim, ~40Km cycle, ~10Km run
- Standard Distance Triathlon (Mixed Team Relay): one discipline per team member
- Standard Distance Aquathlon: ~1500m swim, ~10Km run
Swims are in the North Pond over an anticlockwise 750m circuit completed twice. The swim uses a mass start (waist deep) and may be run in waves for water safety. Wetsuits are recommended and may be compulsory depending on water temperature. A swim cut-off of about 1 hour may be applied at organisers' discretion.
The cycle route uses local Angus roads and includes rolling terrain with a notable climb over Carrot Hill. The course includes mandatory stop junctions where competitors must stop with one foot touching the ground and follow marshal instructions. Road user safety rules and marshal guidance apply.
Entry limits, closing date and fees vary by race. Entrants must hold appropriate Home Nation membership or a Race Pass; under 18s require parent or guardian consent for open road cycling. Medical cover is provided by Tayside Mountain Rescue. Onsite parking, toilets, showers and a café are available within Monikie Country Park.
