2026 M3 Monikie Triathlon Festival
The festival takes place on 4 July 2026 at Monikie Country Park, organised by Monifieth Triathlon Club (M3) with support from Triathlon Scotland and the British Triathlon Federation. Multiple race formats will run around the park and on local roads in Angus.
Distances for the main event formats:
- Standard Distance Aquabike: ~1500m swim, ~40Km cycle
- Standard Distance Triathlon Individual: ~1500m swim, ~40Km cycle, ~10Km run
- Standard Distance Triathlon Team Relay: same distances, one leg per team member
- Standard Distance Aquathlon: ~1500m swim, ~10Km run
The swim takes place in the North Pond as two anticlockwise laps of a 750m circuit. Entry and exit points differ, leaving an approximately 80m carpeted run to transition. Starts will be mass or waved, wetsuits are recommended and may be compulsory, and organisers may impose a mandatory 1 hour cut-off for the swim in adverse conditions.
The cycle runs on open Angus roads and is generally rolling with a notable local climb. There are mandatory stop junctions and marshal directions; competitors must dismount at the dismount line. Where the bike leg uses open roads, under 18s require parent or guardian consent.
Practical information: participant limits apply per event, the closing date is 28 June 2026, medical cover is provided by Tayside Mountain Rescue, parking and a park café are available, and results will be published after the event. Entries will be checked against national governing body membership or Race Pass and the event follows British Triathlon Federation race rules.
