2026 M3 Monikie Triathlon Festival
The M3 Monikie Triathlon Festival is organised by Monifieth Triathlon Club (M3) and supported by Triathlon Scotland and the British Triathlon Federation. The one day event on 4 July 2026 takes place at Monikie Country Park, Angus, using open water and local roads.
The festival includes multiple standard distance events with the following race formats and distances:
- Standard Distance Aquabike: ~1500m swim, ~40Km cycle
- Standard Distance Triathlon Individual: ~1500m swim, ~40Km cycle, ~10Km run
- Standard Distance Triathlon Team Relay: one discipline per team member, same distances as individual
- Standard Distance Aquathlon: ~1500m swim, ~10Km run
Swims are in the North Pond on a roughly 750m anticlockwise circuit completed twice. Starts are mass or waved to suit safety cover. The swim exit is at a different point to the entry producing a short run to transition. Wetsuits are recommended and may be compulsory depending on water temperature. A swim cut off of about one hour may be applied in some conditions.
The cycle routes use public roads around Angus and include rolling terrain and named local hills. Several junctions are mandatory stop points where marshals will enforce complete stops. The run courses loop around the park ponds and are described as flat.
Entry limits, closing date and fees vary by event. Race entry requires Home Nation membership or a British Triathlon Race Pass. Under 18s require parent or guardian consent for events with open road cycling. The event is organised under the race rules of the British Triathlon Federation. Medical cover will be provided by Tayside Mountain Rescue. Parking, a cafe, showers and toilets are available within the park. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
