The Lutzie 43 Road Race is a 3.1 mile event held on August 1, 2026 with on-site and virtual participation options. The on-site event starts and finishes on the 43-yard line at Lutzie Field, Frank Fillman Stadium, Lassiter High School in Marietta, GA. The on-site course is an up and down loop through neighborhoods adjacent to the school.
Two participation categories are offered for both on-site and virtual runners: student entries and adult entries, with separate registration fees for each category. Virtual participants have a shipping fee added for mailed shirts. T-shirts are guaranteed for registrations received before the organizer cutoff date; virtual registrants who register after the posted cutoff are not guaranteed delivery in time for race day.
Awards are presented at the on-site race. Prizes are given to the top three finishers of each age category for males and females, to the overall male and female winners, and to the top male and female masters winners. Age categories include 10 and under, 11 to 14, 15 to 19, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, 60 to 69, and 70 and over.
On-site amenities include several water stations, post-race snacks, restrooms at the field, and first aid volunteers. Dogs on leash and strollers are permitted on course and at the start and finish. Parking is available at the Lassiter stadium lot off Steinhauer Road and along the main Shallowford Road entrance. Live timing is provided with a chip on each race bib and results accessible via QR code at the finish. Proceeds support the Lutzie 43 Foundation and its safe driving initiatives.
