Lutzie 43 Road Race
The Lutzie 43 Road Race takes place on August 1, 2026, at Lutzie Field at Lassiter High School in Marietta, Georgia, with a virtual option for participants who run from another location. The event distance is 3.1 miles and includes both on site and virtual entries for students (22 and under) and adults (23 and over).
The on site course is an up and down loop through neighborhoods adjacent to Lassiter High School and begins and ends on the 43-yard line on Lutzie Field. Packet pick-up is available the day before at a local restaurant and on race morning at the field. There is plentiful parking on site, including the stadium lot off Steinhauer Road and additional spaces at the Shallowford Road entrance.
Awards are presented at the on site race to the top three finishers in each age category for male and female, plus top overall male and female and top masters male and female. Age categories include 10 and under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and 70 and over.
All participants receive a bib with a timing chip and live results are accessible via a QR code at the finish. Water stations and post-race refreshments are provided. Dogs and strollers are allowed on the course; dogs must be on a leash. Restrooms are available at the field.
T-shirts are guaranteed to registrations received prior to the race day cutoff. Virtual registrations incur a $5 shipping fee; virtual registrants who register after the stated mailing deadline are not guaranteed to receive their shirt before race day.
Proceeds benefit the Lutzie 43 Foundation, which works to reduce distracted, impaired and unsafe driving through education and its 43 Key Seconds safe driving initiative. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
