Lula Lake Trail Blazer
The Lula Lake Trail Blazer takes place on November 14, 2026 at Lula Lake in Lookout Mountain, GA. The event offers multiple trail distances and a kids fun run.
- 50K
- Half Marathon
- 10K
- Kids Fun Run (1 mile)
The race series was started by Lula Lake Land Trust in 2019 to raise funds for trail building. Proceeds support trail maintenance, construction, and the organization’s conservation mission. Registration closes in November 2026 and the cutoff to receive a race shirt is in October 2026. Packet pick-up details are to be announced.
Course highlights: The 10K passes two waterfalls, a bluff overlook, and follows Rock Creek with about 630 ft of elevation gain. The half marathon climbs through the Core Preserve and Moonshine Trails with more than 1,400 ft of elevation gain, including roughly 800 ft over seven miles on single-track. The 50K follows the half marathon route for the first ~10 miles, then continues to the Nickajack section of the CCT toward High Point and loops back, with about 5,000 ft of elevation gain. Much of the back half of the 50K is on private property and is not accessible before race day; hiking poles are allowed.
Aid stations: The 50K includes six aid stations and one light aid station. Most aid stations are stocked with water, Tailwind, cola, sandwiches, crackers, salty snacks, pickles, fruit, and trail mix. Aid station five provides water only and is less than two miles from the next station.
Additional notes: A kids fun run uses an out and back on a gravel road with obstacles and parents may run with children. Add-ons include limited camping for a fee and a beer mile event for participants age 21 and over. Dogs may not run but may attend as leashed spectators. Lodging options nearby include The Chanticleer Inn, Cloudland Canyon State Park, and Airbnb listings in Lookout Mountain and Chattanooga.
