Lula Lake Trail Blazer
The Lula Lake Trail Blazer is a trail running event held at Lula Lake Land Trust on Lookout Mountain, GA. The event offers multiple distances that use established single-track and gravel routes across the preserve and adjacent trail systems.
Distances:
- 50K
- Half Marathon
- 10K
- Kids Fun Run (ages 12 and under, 1 mile)
The 10K passes two waterfalls, a bluff overlook, and follows Rock Creek with an elevation gain of about 630 ft. The half marathon climbs more than 1,400 ft, including an initial climb on an old railroad grade and about 800 ft of gain over seven miles on the Moonshine Trails before finishing on the 10K section. The 50K follows the half marathon for roughly the first 10 miles, continues to the Nickajack section and High Point, and totals about 5,000 ft of elevation gain. Much of the back half of the 50K is on private property and is not accessible before race day. Hiking poles are allowed.
Aid support on the 50K includes six full aid stations and one light aid station, with the first station at mile 7 and typical spacing of 3 to 4 miles. Most aid stations provide water, Tailwind, coke, sandwiches, salty snacks, fruit, and trail mix; one station supplies only water.
Additional notes: a kids obstacle run uses an out-and-back gravel road and allows parents to accompany children. Camping and a beer mile are offered as add-ons for additional fees; the beer mile is restricted to participants age 21 and over. Registration policies state no refunds or transfers, and shirts for adults require registration by 10/10/26. Packet pick-up details are to be announced. The event operates rain or shine. Proceeds are directed to trail maintenance, construction, and conservation work at Lula Lake Land Trust. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
