Lookout Mountain Trail Race
The Lookout Mountain Trail Race is scheduled for December 19, 2026 in Lookout Mountain, GA. The event is organized by Wild Trails and includes multiple distances held on single track trails that start high on the Covenant College campus.
The course mixes climbs, runnable sections and moderate descents. The 50 mile and 18 mile routes share the first 18 miles. The route crosses or follows at least five creeks and passes through the Lula Lake Land Trust, where runners travel among rhododendron, mixed hardwood and hemlock forests and view the 120 foot Lula Falls. Two exposed bluff lines are part of the course and one section offers views across up to five states on clear days. Aid stations provide hot soup and camp fires are present at night.
The 10K begins with a few flat, fast miles on college cross country trails before moving to narrow trails along two separate creeks with a couple of steep climbs; the course may be walked as well as run.
