Lug Uphill
Lug Uphill is an uphill mountain running race in Barravore, County Wicklow, held on Friday 7 August 2026. The course distance is 6.20 km with a reported climb of 775 m. The event is capped at 50 entries and forms part of the Leinster Weekend and the Irish Uphill League.
Race marking will indicate only major junctions. GPS devices are not allowed. The mandatory Level B kit required for all runners comprises a waterproof jacket, hat or buff, gloves, a whistle, a charged mobile phone with an emergency number stored, and a foil blanket or bivvy bag or equivalent. Organisers will confirm the exact kit to be carried on the day depending on conditions. Runners should also have the means to carry the kit; failure to carry required items may lead to denial of entry or disqualification and random kit checks may be carried out.
Entries open Monday 3 August 2026 and close Thursday 6 August 2026. The event is capped at 50 participants. The race will serve as the first of two trial races for selection to the Nasego Mountain Running Six Nations event on 5 and 6 September 2026; qualifying times for the trial will be added to the event page in 2026.
Getting to the event is via the Barravore carpark in the Glenmalure area. IMRA has organised camping in the Glenmalure Valley with coin-operated showers and portaloos available; bookings for camping will open in June via the IMRA shop.
