Lug Uphill (Barravore, County Wicklow)
Lug Uphill is an uphill mountain running event held in Barravore, County Wicklow on Friday 7th August 2026. The course is listed as 6.20 km with 775 m of climb. The field is capped at 50 entries and the event forms the final race of the Irish Uphill League and part of the Leinster Weekend.
Race marking is limited to only major junctions and GPS devices are not allowed. The mandatory kit requirement is Level B and includes a waterproof jacket, hat or buff, gloves, whistle, a charged mobile phone with an emergency number stored, and a foil blanket or bivvy bag or equivalent. The exact kit to be carried during the race will be finalised on the day and announced at registration. Random kit checks may be carried out and failure to have required items may lead to denied entry or disqualification.
Entry fees are stated as €7 for seniors and €5 for over 65s and under 18s. Entries open on Monday 3rd August 2026 at 21:00 and close on Thursday 6th August 2026 at 18:00. The race is also used as the first of two trial races for the Nasego Mountain Running Six Nations event in Italy; the second trial race is the Tinahely half marathon on 8 August 2026.
Camping for the Leinster Weekend is booked in the Glenmalure Valley in a field beside the Avonbeg river. Coin operated showers will be available in Glenmalure Lodge and portaloos will be on site.
