Luck of the Irish Triathlon, Run-Bike-Run & 5K - Playtri
This event at the LISD Aquatic Center in The Colony, Texas takes place on March 21, 2027. Multiple race formats are offered on the same day, including pool swims, bike laps on measured courses, and run segments on mapped courses.
Race formats and distances:
- Sprint Triathlon: 300 meter pool swim, 9 mile bike (2 loops), 5K run
- Super Sprint Triathlon: 200 meter pool swim, 4.5 mile bike (1 loop), 2 mile run
- Run-Bike-Run: 1 mile run, 9 mile bike (2 loops), 5K run
- 5K road run
The swim portions use an indoor 50 meter pool and will be conducted as snake swims. The event is sanctioned by USA Triathlon; participants must hold an annual USAT membership or purchase a one-day license for the race. Minimum ages are 13 for the sprint and run-bike-run and 11 for the super sprint.
Operational procedures include mandatory body marking before entering transition, chip timing with disposable chips, and specific transition-area access rules. Relay teams of two or three are permitted and share timing chips. A virtual race option is available; virtual participants receive event swag by mail.
